About Me Projects Computers Guestbook Links | About Me I was born on June 23rd of 1985 in St. Petersburg, Russia. At the age of three, I fled the former Soviet Union with my family and took refuge in Italy. After spending nearly a year in Italy, my family moved to California in 1989 and I have been living in the San Francisco bay area since. I am currently a fourth-year student at UC Santa Cruz and I am affiliated with Kresge College. I am majoring in Computer Science. Since the age of five, when my father brought home the first personal computer I had seen, a 386 running DOS, I have been interested in computers. When I was nine, a Macintosh IIfx was brought home and I began using Macs for about seven years. I discovered Linux back when I was in 6th grade, but I did not begin using it until I installed it on my Mac when I was a freshman in highschool. I had always been fascinated by other operating systems such as BeOS and interested in tweaking my system. Using Linux allowed me to work with my computer on a lower level than systems such as MacOS or Windows would allow and it is free. Although I had taught myself C in middle school, I did not know the programming language very well until I began my involvement with the free software community. Throughout highschool, I worked on many personal projects ranging from games to a Hotline client. It was during my sophomore year of highschool when I joined the Debian project's development team. I am currently working on a software music synthesizer called thinksynth. Contact MeE-mail: misha [at-sign] nasledov [period] comHere is my PGP public key block. |
